Alexis Sanfield (a.k.a. Chef Amber) did a great job with Luna Star Cafe. Opened in 1996, Luna Star was voted Best Coffee House by Miami New Times in 2004 and Best Coffee House with a Beer Selection by Miami SunPost in 2004. Friendly and helpful staff. Over 100 kinds of bottled beers (domestics, imports, lagers and ales), wine and food. Entertainment includes acoustic jazz, blues, bluegrass, folk, storytelling, open mics and comedy. Ana said, “ . . . unique and full of personality . . . stage is front and center, clearly proclaiming Luna Star's priority . . . lots of little tables with a cozy and inviting atmosphere . . . we each had the mushroom pizza which was delicious . . . ” Cash only. No credit cards. When there are live acts, there is a $7 minimum per person and often a cover charge - we paid $10 apiece. Ample street parking. No smoking. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
