Books & Books/Coral Gables: 2011-02-05

Books & Books.

In 1982, the first Books & Books was founded in Coral Gables (the “City Beautiful”) by Mitchell Kaplan. Currently housed in a gorgeous 1927 building listed in the Coral Gables Register of Historic places, the legendary Books & Books has sprouted six others—in Miami Beach, Bal Harbour, Westhampton Beach, Grand Cayman, Miami International Airport, and Museum of Art Ft. Lauderdale. As MiamiBandStuff.com is about live music, we shall tear ourselves away from the exquisite books and instead dwell on the open-air courtyard, full-service cafe and... live music on Fridays and Saturdays! Ana said, “ . . . the open air and the marvelous weather make everything even better . . . the food tasted amazing (Hugo had a grilled turkey sandwich and I had a prosciutto panini) . . . I asked to change the type of cheese and they graciously did. They were so very nice . . . and the music was glorious . . . and yes, the setting is worthy of a 'beautiful' location.”
