The Usual Suspects: 2007-11-10 at JohnMartin's

Don't know how, but I ended up on harmonica player Bruce Turkel's email list months ago. This is good, as he consistently manages to join the better bands in Miami. As proof, there he is in the photo above at JohnMartin's, first guy on the left (minus harmonica), part of the brand new 5-piece acoustic rock band The Usual Suspects. This was the band's first gig. Second from left is Phil Allen on guitar and vocals, while the charming Maree Coureaux on vocals and percussion is third. Fourth, partly obscured by Maree's left shoulder, is bassist / guitarist / vocalist Burt Bruton. Fifth is Andy Waks on vocals, guitar and keyboard. For now, The Usual Suspects don't have a website.

Bassist Burt Bruton spent most of the night in the shadows yet his professionalism lit up the night. I stood near the stage's edge to get this shot.
