Limerock: 2007-11-17 at Black Point Ocean Grill
We keep Limerock's website bookmarked so as to have their schedule handy. As their home page announced that they were gigging close by at Black Point Ocean Grill, off we went. We found Ocean Grill so packed that instead of taking photos, we ordered drinks and waited for the next set with the hope that the crowd would thin. There was no other way - my camera cannot shoot through dancing bodies. Limerock is about having a great time with great music and high decibels, and judging by the turnout, people agree. Above, from left to right, we see Dave aka "The Fishin' Musician" on keyboards and lead vocals, Louie aka "Blue Lou Solo" on percussion and backup vocals, Joel aka "Sparky" on guitar and backup vocals, and Henri aka "The Boog" on bass guitar and lead vocals. I regret not photographing Steve aka "Bubba" (stage setup and backup lead vocals). Steve was singing lead when we arrived and we wrongly assumed that he would sing again in the next set or two... maybe he did but the partiers blocked him? One member we didn't see at all was lead vocalist Ted Bell. We enjoyed what we heard, and we can only imagine how Limerock sounds with Ted. Ana and I enjoyed our Limerock experience and look forward to next time. The band's website is at http://www.limerockband.com.
Keyboardist Dave aka 'The Fishin' Musician' sings lead with great style.
Drummer Louie aka 'Blue Lou Solo' never stops smiling but doesn't let that get in the way of a great performance.
Joel aka 'Sparky' is another great musicina who doesn't stop smiling, even after breaking a string.
Bassist Henri aka 'The Boog' did a super job with lead vocals.
I loved the lighting and Limerock logo on the kick drum.
