Ego: 2007-12-07 at Rumors Bistro

Ego delivers its rock covers and originals at Rumors Bistro.

Fronted by the talented, charismatic and playful lead singer/songwriter Zaida Alfaro, Ego plays music from the 60's through today along with originals. Zaida's vocals are supplemented by Rob, who sings lead with style and in perfect sync to his skilled bass playing. Carlos (the new lead guitarist) and Paul (the rhythm guitarist) also help on vocals while Mike focuses on drumming an awesome beat. This band is like a happy, nearly rowdy family that is fun to watch and listen to.

Above, at Rumors Bistro, left to right, we have Carlos on lead guitar and vocals, Zaida on lead vocals, Mike on drums, Rob on bass guitar and vocals, and Paul on guitar and vocals. Ego has a website at http://www.egobandmiami.com and you can find Zaida's originals, bio and pics at http://www.zaidamusic.com as well as at http://www.myspace.com/zaidazaida. Zaida has released two CD's - "Train Ride" in 2000 and "Stories Untold" in 2006.

Zaida Alfaro sings with the rock band Ego.

Zaida Alfaro is a dynamic and moving singer who can also be quite playful and entertaining. Sometimes she will pop the microphone off its stand to walk about the stage and into the audience. Other times, she will improvise something very unexpected.

Ego's Rob runs away from Zaida.

Why does Rob run away from Zaida?

Carlos is Ego's new lead guitarist.Rob plays bass for Ego, and also sings lead.

Carlos is Ego's new lead guitarist. Considering that he has been with Ego for only two weeks, he sounded really fine. There is much to look forward to.

Rob plays two basses - a 4-string Lakland and a 5-string MusicMan Bongo. He adds a cool style to his strong lead vocals that Ana and I found appealing.

Zaida aids Paul by strumming his guitar.

Zaida helps Paul with his strumming. This was funny but also be practical, like insurance. Should Paul lose his right arm on a gig, the show can go on with Zaida by his side.

Paul plays rythm on acoustic and electric guitars, and also sings.Rob is being... uh... helped by Zaida.

Above left, Paul adds valuable tone color and alternates between acoustic and electric guitars.

Above right, Zaida gives Rob... uh... strategic support.

Drummer Dave Webster of Mr. Nice Guy.

Mike is an excellent drummer and also designs posters for the band.
