The Bailouts: 2011-3-26 at The Bar

The Bailouts

No bailing out was needed for The Bailouts, for they truly raised The Bar in Coral Gables. Ana said, “ . . . fun party band that makes you wanna dance and stomp your feet . . . ” Voted 2009 Qool Awards Best Cover Band. Above, we see Ray Veunes on lead guitar and vocals, Kristen Borrego on bass, Pete Alvarez on drums, Annie Lord on lead vocals, and Casino Brown on keyboards and vocals. The Bailouts' main website is at thebailouts.net, they're on Twitter at twitter.com/#!/thebailoutsrock, on FaceBook, on MySpace, and even have a channel on YouTube.

Annie Lord on lead vocals.

Annie Lord on lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Ana said, “ . . . nothing like a girl belting it out and rocking the house . . . ” This was the first of Annie's last two appearances with The Bailouts, as demands on her time prevent her from continuing with the band. Annie Lord has been replaced by the talented singer Angela West Cioffi (scroll to end to see photo).

Ray on lead guitar and vocals.

Brand new member Ray Veunes on lead guitar and vocals. He replaces founding member Tony Cruz, who now plays guitar for Push.

Casino Brown on keyboards and vocals.Casino Brown on keyboards and vocals. Ana said, “ . . . great keyboard playing with a real nice tone . . . ” Casino is a classically trained pianist. He grew up in Detroit influenced by the 80s and 90s synth/garage rock sound and writes & records original synth/powerpop music. Casino's favorite keyboard is the Roland Juno-D (he has three of them!).

Kristen Borrego on bass guitar.

Kristen Borrego on bass. Kristen, who also plays bass for Rock Star Karaoke, recently resigned, leaving room for founding member Jorge Cruz (scroll to end to see photo) to return. Jorge said, “I've known Pete since high school and we've played together pretty much since then. We have been in only a handful of bands - Status Unknown, Naked Bootleg, The VoodooCasters, and the Bailouts which I think speaks volumes about our friendship and musical chemistry.” Jorge's influences include Jack Cassidy, John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones, Jaco, etc. “but it all stemmed from one group and one man—The Beatles and Paul McCartney.”

Pete Alvarez on drums.

Founding member Pete Alvarez on drums. Ana said, “ . . . .strong and totally rocking with a solid groove, decisive beat and excellent timing . . . ”
